CIA Invites Iranians to Share Information Amid Rising US-Iran Tensions
“Hello. The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) can hear your voice and wants to help you. Below is the necessary guidance on how to securely contact us virtually,” the agency said in a Farsi-language post on social media, accompanied by a more than two-minute video explaining how to communicate safely with the CIA.
The video provided step-by-step guidance, recommending the use of virtual private networks or Tor while avoiding business computers and office phones.
The outreach comes as the US continues to deploy military assets in the region, with President Donald Trump warning Iran of potential consequences if it fails to reach a nuclear agreement with Washington. Tensions have escalated following the deployment of two aircraft carriers and extensive aerial forces to the Middle East.
Meanwhile, a third round of indirect nuclear negotiations, brokered by Oman, is scheduled in Geneva on Thursday, where Iran is expected to submit a draft proposal to US officials.
The White House has reiterated that while diplomacy remains the preferred route, military options are still being considered.
